Appliance control board
Modern household appliances, whether intended for professional or domestic use, are often equipped with numerous sensors, actuators, and a control interface for the operator.
In this activity, the requirement was the design of a control board of small dimensions and low cost, capable of controlling a motor in closed loop configuration, and other electrical devices based on the signals coming from some sensors arranged on the machine and on the user commands.
It was decided to use an ARM Cortex M3 microcontroller, capable of controlling the inputs, outputs, and the user interface consisting of buttons and an LCD.
In the development of the board, particular attention was paid to aspects relating to electromagnetic compatibility, and special solutions were adopted for attenuating the disturbances emitted during operation and guaranteeing immunity from disturbances coming from the environment.
