2G gateway
Florence Engineering developed a sub-GHz and 2G gateway, with inputs for sensor acquisition.
The board can operate in standalone mode or as a gateway in a network, consisting of several peripheral units connected via a sub-GHz radio interface.
The board has inputs for acquisition of analog sensors with both voltage or current output, I2C or SPI digital interfaces, automatically controlled bistable relay output and a clock with backup battery.
A multi-page graphic display allows the user to view the operating configuration, the intensity of the radio signal and the values of the measurements.
By means of the 2G module, the board forwards data acquired from local sensors and remote units to a Cloud server; if no 2G connection is available, the board saves data in local memory. Data can be downloaded with a PC via the USB interface using the supplied software, also used to configure the system itself.
Florence Engineering also creates, on Cloud space provided by the customer, the software infrastructure necessary for interaction with the system, data saving and visualization through a web interface.
The platform was designed to operate in remote locations, without the presence of mains power. For this reason, a solar panel power kit with MPPT regulator and a backup battery can be supplied which guarantees, when charged, the operation of the system for a few days even in the event of adverse weather conditions. All system components are housed in a watertight box with special aluminum brackets.
