X band LNA module
For an important customer, Florence Engineering developed an X-band LNA using a very low noise figure device. This subsystem has temperature gain compensation functions as well as signal blanking functionality, and RF output level monitoring through the use of a temperature-compensated RF detector. The temperature compensations were implemented as an extended operating temperature range was required, in which high levels of performance stability had to be guaranteed. As usual for our RF systems, the entire assembly has been housed in an aluminum container machined from solid material, inside which dividers have been organized to guarantee correct insulation between the parts of the chain. This as well guarantees a large surface area to support the printed circuit, greatly improving the mechanical robustness characteristics of the project and the heat dissipation in order to eliminate the presence of hotspots that could reduce overall reliability.
